Why Fundamental Music Therapy, LLC?

Jenna Whitworth worked for a non-profit organization in Poplar Bluff as a board-certified music therapist from June 2011 to June 2016.  In 2015, Jenna realized there were many families in the Poplar Bluff area that wanted music therapy services but could not access it.  Jenna wanted people to be able to access the service no matter the diagnosis.

In 2016, Jenna made this a reality by starting Fundamental Music Therapy, LLC.  Jenna works with children and adults with developmental disabilities (including but not limited to: down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, vision impairments).

Why the name "Fundamental Music Therapy, LLC"?  Jenna believes learning should be fun while working on the fundamentals of life.  During music therapy session, Jenna works on various goals in ways that she hopes her client's have so much fun they don't even realize they are working hard.

The mission of Fundamental Music Therapy, LLC is to provide clinical and evidence-based music therapy services designed to meet each individual’s specific needs to improve their quality of everyday life.

Jenna Whitworth is originally from Vicksburg, Michigan and is a board-certified music therapist since May 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University. She attended Neurologic Music Therapy training and obtained the fellowship in NMT techniques from Colorado State University. 

Jenna is married to Matt Whitworth of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Matt and Jenna are the proud parents of a two-year old rescue puppy named Daisy Ann.
